I read the FAQ and as I understand it, to get some reputation your answers have to be voted up, but to vote someone's answer up you need 15 reputation points. So how is this supposed to take off when everyone has 1 reputation point?

You can get reputation by answering questions. When your answer is marked by the OP you get 10 points and the OP gets 2 points for accepting. I agree though, that it seems like there needs to be a period where everyone can vote up peoples answers and questions even with < 15 reputation. |

In the short term, I can vote up posts and answers to promote those who are already taking part. |
